Telephone Seat

This is my interpretation of the vintage telephone seat. While many of us no longer have landline phones, we still find ourselves needing a place to set our keys or mail, take off our shoes, make impromptu notes, rest our aging legs... the possibilities are endless!

I built this bench entirely from American cherry. The legs, pedestal, and shelf are hand-carved to complement the contours of the woodgrain. I expect the reds to deepen significantly if placed near a sun-facing window. It's multifunctional and perfect in the entryway of a home or apartment.
