For a period of time I was experimenting with different ways to join legs to a table top without using a skirt or apron. Of all the pieces, this occasional table has became my favorite. The leg joint is a variation used by Sam Maloof in his beloved rocking chairs. The table top has a warm hue with hints of softwood that ease the contrast between the darker walnut and softer maple.​
