Inspired by the evolution of bar soap from a simple commodity to a small batch, luxury item - a possible petition to the undecided against the conveniences of liquid soap - this bathroom set was designed around the soap pedestal. Permanently joined into cabinet top, the pedestal holds a soap dish that can be removed for cleaning or swapped for another attachment, like a tray for holding a gentleman's shaving set. Almost all joinery is a variation of the dovetail joint, including the pedestal top and bottom, drawer and door pulls, and cabinet drawers.​
